Late minoan amphora with large handles which exceed the rim of the ceramic. The body of the amphora is decorated with papyrus and lotus motifs. The amphora dates to late minoan period, around 1450 BC, during which Mycenean influence became apparent. During this era, the vase forms and designs became more and more Mycenean in character with a large variety in decoration. This style, called ''Palace Style'', adapts elements of the previous, as leafy and geometric motifs which are now depicted in a more abstract way, but also adds new features, such as the practice of confining decor in reserves and bands. Egyptians motifs, such as papyrus and lotus, predominante.
