The Acropolis of Athens is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historic significance, the most famous being the Parthenon. Parthenon is dedicated to Athena,a greek goddess of wisdom, war and the crafts.Its construction began in 447 BC and was complited in 438 BC, the architects were Iktinos, Kallikrates.Parthenon was partly destroyed on 26 September 1687. Excellent greek gifts.
